TL;DR
- Telegram has no ad feed that does the work for you. Reach comes from channels, and from the comment sections under other channels’ posts.
- Start with a channel worth landing in, then bring readers to it through useful comments in threads where your audience already reads.
- Neurocommenting automates that with managed accounts and AI-written, on-topic comments. Nobody gets a DM.
- Track joins with a dedicated invite link, and be wary of anyone who promises a fixed number of paid subscribers.

Why Telegram is worth the effort in 2026
Most startup marketing playbooks were written for ad platforms with targeting menus and a feed that decides who sees what. Telegram works differently. There is no algorithmic feed pushing your posts to strangers. People subscribe to channels they chose, read them closely and talk in the comments underneath. That makes Telegram hard to break into, and it is also why the attention you do win there tends to be real.
It is one of the reasons Nordlume works on Telegram at all. We are an independent agency for the channels other agencies won’t touch: Telegram, Reddit and Snapchat. Our Telegram campaigns run on ATREOX AI, a platform we do not own. We plan and operate campaigns on it for clients, and this guide describes the approach we use.
Start with a channel worth landing in
Every Telegram growth tactic ends in the same place: someone opens your channel and decides in a few seconds whether to stay. Before you spend anything on traffic, make that moment count.
- A clear name and avatar that say what the channel is about.
- A pinned post that explains who you are, what readers get and how often you post.
- A week or two of real posts, so a visitor sees a living channel rather than an empty room.
- A linked discussion group, so readers can comment and you can see what they care about.
If your startup does not have a channel yet, build it first. Traffic sent to an empty channel is traffic wasted.
Where the readers are: comment sections
Most active Telegram channels have comments switched on through a linked discussion group. Those threads are where readers react, argue and ask questions. A thoughtful comment there is seen by people who already care about the topic, and a reader who finds it useful can tap the commenter’s name, open the profile and follow it to your channel.
This is the core of comment-section traffic, and it is not advertising in the classic sense. You earn the click by adding something to the conversation: a correction, a practical tip, a short experience, an honest question. Comments that read like ads get ignored at best and reported at worst.
Choosing the right channels
The hard part is picking threads where your future readers actually are. Look for channels in your niche and next to it, with recent posts and live discussions, not just big subscriber counts. Tooling helps here: ATREOX’s Channel Parser guide shows how to build a source list of channels at scale. A human pass over that list is still worth the time.
Neurocommenting, explained
Doing this by hand works for a few comments a day. Neurocommenting is the automated version: a set of managed Telegram accounts leaves on-topic, AI-written comments under posts in the channels you choose, and readers who click through land in your channel. ATREOX AI calls itself a traffic engine, not a content tool, and that framing is right. It brings people to your door; your channel does the rest.
A responsible setup has a few moving parts:
- Comment personas, so each account speaks in a consistent, believable voice.
- A safety classifier that checks every comment before it is posted.
- Warm-up curves for new accounts, randomised timing, quiet hours and per-account comment limits, so activity stays measured.
- No direct messages. Nobody is messaged; readers come only if they choose to.
For the mechanics in detail, read how ATREOX AI neurocommenting works or our own neurocommenting guide, including how not to get banned. For the accounts and proxies underneath it all, see our practical setup guide.
Measure joins with invite links
Telegram lets channel admins create additional invite links and see how many people joined through each one. Use that. Give every campaign, and ideally every traffic source, its own named invite link, and use that link wherever the traffic lands, for example in the profiles of the commenting accounts.
Then compare joins per link week by week. This keeps reporting honest: the numbers come from Telegram itself, and you can check them without trusting anyone’s dashboard. It also shows quickly which personas and channel groups deserve more effort, and which ones to drop.
What to expect, honestly
Neurocommenting brings real readers to your channel. What it cannot do is decide how many of them stay, upgrade to a paid tier or buy. That depends on your channel, your product and your offer. The ATREOX house rule puts it plainly: the traffic is real and measurable, how many readers become paid subscribers is your side of it, and anyone promising you a fixed number of paid subscribers a day is selling you something.
- The first days are quiet on purpose, while new accounts warm up.
- After that, traffic arrives steadily rather than in one spike.
- Results improve as you prune weak channels and personas, so plan for iteration, not a one-off push.
On budget: ATREOX plans start from a monthly licence, and prices change, so check the current ATREOX AI plans rather than trusting old screenshots. The overview of ATREOX AI modules shows what you can add beyond the core neurocommenting module.
Do it yourself, or work with an agency
You can run all of this yourself. The platform is self-serve, and its free tools, such as the ATREOX account checker, are open to everyone. What takes time is the steering: which channels to comment in, which voices to use, how fast to go and how to read the results.
That steering is the part Nordlume takes on. We are not ATREOX; we are an independent agency that plans and runs campaigns on it. See what Nordlume adds on top of ATREOX AI, and how Telegram fits next to Reddit and Snapchat in our services.
Frequently asked questions
Can I promote a startup on Telegram without ads?
Yes. Most growth on Telegram comes from channels, mentions and comment sections rather than ads. Comment-section traffic, by hand or through neurocommenting, brings readers who chose to click.
Is neurocommenting spam?
Done properly, no. Comments stay on topic, a safety classifier checks each one before it posts, activity is paced with limits and quiet hours, and nobody receives a DM. Comments that read like ads do not work anyway.
How do I know the traffic is real?
Use a dedicated invite link for each campaign. Telegram counts the joins through each link, so you can verify the numbers yourself.
Is Nordlume part of ATREOX?
No. Nordlume is an independent agency that plans and runs Telegram campaigns on the ATREOX AI platform for startups and creators.
